BUILDING EVALUATION REPORT
The IEE Building Assessment Report is a document that certifies the situation in which the buildings are located, in relation to their state of conservation, compliance with universal accessibility regulations and the degree of energy efficiency.
Owners of real estate older than 50 years are required by law to perform the technical inspection of them. The owners of buildings are also obliged, regardless of their age, who intend to request public aid to carry out conservation works, universal accessibility or energy efficiency.
The buildings must be subject to inspection in the terms specified by the regional regulations and the different municipal ordinances that come into force as a result of said regulations. The IEE evaluation report must be written by a competent technician, Architect, Technical Architect or Building Engineer, and must be registered with the corresponding City Council.
The evaluation reports of IEE buildings are valid for 10 years, and must be renewed at the end of this period.
Municipalities may have administrative sanctions to ensure compliance by the owners of the duty to inspect their property. The City Council of Palma establishes a sanction of 600 to 3,000 euros per dwelling or premises for buildings that fail to comply with the ITE regulations.
